cultural diversity
statement
Suelae Robinson is an Antiguan artist, using patchwork, embroidery, and poetry to uncover hidden narratives of Caribbean people. Rooted in Caribbean colonial history, blended with folklore and mythology, whilst planted in the present, her work uplifts the experiences of those of African descent. Her textile pieces are full of colour and spirit, intended to inspire and bring a sense of pride to Caribbean culture. Sharing embodied knowledge, her work asks how the past affect us interpersonally, and how can we continue to grow together.
